A court can make a parenting order based on an agreement between the parties (<a href=\\\"http:\/\/www.familycourt.gov.au\/wps\/wcm\/connect\/fcoaweb\/how-do-i\/consent-orders\/applying-consent-orders\\\">consent orders<\/a>) or after a court hearing or trial.
